Phosphorus property to emit light when oxidised has been known since ancient times. Nowadays, however, you can use apply this in screen printing as well. Specialised phosphorescent inks have been developed for that purpose. They absorb the light they are exposed to and emit it when placed in a dark environment. The effect is astonishing, especially when the printing substrate is dark. Phosphorescent inks can be printed on various colour bases and that gives them the ability to glow in different shades. That is extremely suitable for materials shown in dark environments (even in night clubs, if you wish), clocks and various interactive products. Phosphorescent inks have different life-spans depending on clients’ needs.
